Jair Helder S. Calixto

My name is Jair Helder, I’m 32 years old. I’ve been teaching English for about 3 years now. It’s been fascinating to see the progress of them and mine over this time, I got myself into a 1-y backpacking trip two years ago and I was an exchanging student in the UK for four months in order to become a better teacher. That’s been my thing since then.
During my time studying and living abroad I managed to learn a lot about methodology and how important it is. From the very beginning we, learners of any foreign language, might fall in a trap that it’s all about the amount of vocabulary we handle to remember and how we stick to a more popular pronunciation or accent to get rid of the other ones and try to avoid those challenges that come along somehow. After being in Wales, England and Ireland I went to a country where English isn’t a native language, however strongly well-spoken indeed, Holland.
There, I could put all I have listened to my teacher to test. To be honest I wouldn’t have gotten nowhere about methods without the lessons, but I wasn’t sure yet. Well, once I spend some months there things started to get clearer and clearer.
I’ve taught my students based on that and so far I’ve received lots of good feedbacks due to that and I’m quite proud of that. it came up to me all of a sudden and so it is for my students.
I’d like to connect to even more students all over, get to know them better and share what I’ve got with everyone anywhere.
