Rachel Van De Burgt

As a dedicated educator with over two decades of experience and a Master’s degree in Education, I have spent my career at the intersection of classical Redemptive pedagogy and a Reformed Christian worldview. My current work spearheading the 2026 Bilingual Christian Classical Education course and the Simeduc Kids and Teens has further refined my commitment to raising a generation that loves God and seeks wisdom through the Liberal Arts.

Throughout my career, I have prioritized the development of curricula that are both academically rigorous and spiritually grounded. My experience includes:

Higher Education & Consultancy: Teaching as a Professor of Education at FITRef and providing expert consultancy through EduCCare to help schools establish Reformed Classical models.

Specialized Curriculum Development: Designing a bilingual (Portuguese-English) online course based on the Book of Genesis for children ages 4 to 12, specifically tailored for the needs of the 2026 school year.

Inclusive Education: Leveraging my specialization in Special Education to ensure that classical instruction is accessible and transformative for children with diverse learning needs.

My philosophy of education is rooted in the belief that the Bible is the authoritative Word of God. I am a firm adherent to the ecumenical creeds and the Three Forms of Unity Heidelberg Catechism and Westminster Catechism believing that our daily work in the classroom is an act of service to Christ and His Church. I strive to foster a Christ-centered environment where students do not just acquire knowledge, but grow in virtue and the love of God.
