Hi! I’m Guilherme, a Brazilian language teacher with over 15 years of experience. Over time, I learned that people do not learn languages in exactly the same way, and that good teaching starts with paying attention to the person in front of you.

Some students need structure and clear explanations. Others learn better through conversation, examples, humor, stories, music, or situations from everyday life. My role is to notice what helps you progress and build the lessons around that.

I have taught English to students of different ages and proficiency levels and Brazilian Portuguese to international students. Because I am also a C2-level English speaker, I can use English when comparison or clarification is useful, especially at the beginning, while gradually creating more space for Portuguese.

Brazilian culture naturally enters the room too: expressions, regional differences, music, humor, and everyday habits become material whenever they help learning.

I value empathy, patience, and respect. My classes are a place where questions are welcome, uncertainties are valued and explored, and mistakes are good friends who hold our hands during the journey. You can hesitate, forget a word, try something that does not quite work, and try again. Risk-taking, though never mandatory, often works as fuel for thriving. But actually, thriving might sound like a dull concept. I'm not here to be your motivational coach. I'm a teacher. And teachers do not really pin their expectations on some abstract idea of success. The prize we set our eyes on is learning, and that large, beautiful smile on a student's face when they get the point. As much as I enjoy that, I'm equally attentive to the brave frown that says, “Not the faintest idea.”

Grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, reading, and writing all have their place, but communication comes first. I want Portuguese to become something you can actually use and enjoy.

And one warning: you may laugh during class. I cannot promise it will not happen.
